Kevin Ziegler
I'm a proud parent of three boys, along with my wife, Danielle Eytan. We live in Fox Meadow, our oldest will be in 3rd grade in the fall, our middle in Kindergarten, and our youngest in preschool in the Village. We arrived in 2023 and quickly fell in love with Scarsdale, our schools, and our community.
Professionally, I am a Vice President at Hyatt Hotels Corporation, leading a global team with deep experience in strategic planning, talent management, budgeting, contract negotiation and partner relationship management. Before that I spent 10 years working in public relations and communications.
I bring a combination of business and communications skills that would add depth and variety to the current board. I like to distill complex issues for others, to foster engagement. In addition, my family represents an important voice in our district, as newer arrivals to Scarsdale and parents of young children.
Volunteerism and community involvement are part of who I am, and I’ve brought that spirit to Scarsdale. I’m originally from Cleveland, and there I served for five years on an appointed committee in Cleveland Heights to distribute several million dollars annually in federal funds to infrastructure and community organizations. I’m also a sports coach with Scarsdale recreation baseball and basketball.
Omer Wiczyk
I have lived in Scarsdale for 10 years, where my wife, Dana, and I are raising our two daughters, who are in 5th and 8th grade.
I spent over two decades working as a prosecutor in New York City, where I handled complex investigations and led teams working on sensitive matters. That experience shaped how I approach decision-making—I listen carefully, ask the right questions, and work collaboratively to reach the right outcome. I now work at the Brandeis Center, which focuses on education and civil rights.
I have been actively involved in our community through a number of volunteer roles, including serving as Chair of the Citizens’ Nominating Committee and as President of the Scarsdale Forum. Much of my work has been in group settings—bringing people together, hearing different perspectives, and helping build consensus.
I believe that the best decisions come from thoughtful discussion and a willingness to engage openly and respectfully, even when people don’t agree. I understand that working in a group means I will not always get my way, but I believe that respect for the process means supporting the outcome anyway.

Who We Are
We are Omer Wiczyk and Kevin Ziegler, the nominees for Scarsdale Board of Education selected by our non-partisan School Board Nominating Committee (SBNC), and we are campaigning for election together, in a contested race to fill two open seats.
We were nominated by a 30-member committee of community volunteers who were seeking fresh perspectives from engaged collaborators, to bring balance to our board.
A unique feature of Scarsdale is that our School Board elections are nonpartisan and include nominees selected through the SBNC process. SBNC Candidates are thoroughly vetted in a process that includes interviews and reference checks—notably with “off-book” individuals not named by the candidates—all conducted by an elected, 30-member committee of community volunteers. While other candidates can seek to be on the ballot, Scarsdale voters have a long history of supporting SBNC nominees.
We are grateful to have gone through that process and to earn the SBNC nomination. It reflects a system that prioritizes qualifications, temperament, and a commitment to community over politics or popularity.
The election is May 19 from 7am to 9pm, at Scarsdale Middle School.
